Visual Wealth:
My dream assignment is to collect portraits of faces from various regions of the planet in order to create a large visual encyclopedia of faces. The faces will be entered into a computer and examined for various phenotypical combinations (Small nose, big lips, high cheeks, etc.) Like a color spectrum or a rainbow our skin and facial features are made of a specific set of colors, shapes, and proportions. Like a kaleidoscope, the combination of these elements create the uniqueness that is in each individual.
Self-Esteem:
An encyclopedia of faces will allow young people still developing their self-concept, to see their own unique features in the faces of everyday people of all different shapes and colors around the globe. My dream is that this project will serve as a counter-narrative to the overwhelming images of false beauty in the major media.
Cultural & Family:
My dream is to us part of the prize to provide ten participants with DNA Ancestry tests so that they find roots to their past and past down this legacy wealth along with the visual wealth of the portraits.
By supporting my dream, you are supporting the dreams of many young women and men, to feel like they fit in a world that can sometimes seem small and unacceptable. With this project I hope to open up a world of acceptance and cultural insight to those who need it most.

love the idea:creating a counter narrative to the images of false beauty. There are too many young people hurting themselves striving to be "beautiful". If this can in any way give them some courage to look inside themselves and see their own natural beauty then I definately want to see it happen.

I love this idea, especially the desire to use this as a way to improve self-concept amongst young people! Maybe this can help people to remember the similarities across humanity, rather than focusing so much on our differences.
