Back River Expedition - Heart and Soul
Fulfilling a dream that started in a closet 42 years ago. Immersing myself in true north. Capturing the heart and soul of the Back River.
Since I was 9 or 10, I have dreamed of paddling down an unexplored river in the very true North and photographing and writing a book about this adventure.
This dream would just be the ultimate.
Navigating the 1100 mile Back River system from Pike’s Portage on Great Slave Lake, Northwest Territories to Gjoa Haven on King William Island, Nunavut.
Photographing not just the details of the comrades on the trip and their daily rituals but the very essence and heart and soul of the entire area along this historical and geographically rich area.
Photographing all aspects of vegetation and wildlife from a wide angle and macro lens viewpoint.

Lisa is my mom and no one deserves this more! Canoe tripping since before I was born, she goes further and further north, always wanting more. Her devotion to this dream makes this the idea to pick! She will share her joy & amazement for the North with the world!!! (PIC Back River & wait & see!)

Maybe I should go along to paddle, portage, cook, clean, etc so you can "focus" on photography. :-)
