The Culture of Love: An Exploration of Mixed-Marriages & Families
I would like to travel the U.S. with my wife interviewing and photographing couples and families in mixed-race and mixed-faith families to learn what values unite them and what pressures they have had to overcome in honor of their love.
For this project, I would find couples and families by online networking and classified advertising. The goal would be to create a still-photography collection of images along with a video documentary of my subjects discussing the unique challenges and benefits of their committments as they see it. My wife would write a narrative to connect the stories and we would produce a 1 to 2 hour program in the hopes that we could shine a light on the hopefulness that these relationships bring to human relationships of all kinds.

Good luck! I love your idea and think this subject needs to be brought to light. Having lived in the DEEP south and far north, I have witnessed and personally experienced both the hatred and support that arises when society and mixed-race couples come head-to-head.
