Reminiscence - memories from Childhood

Photographing childhood memories by recreating them through model landscapes

We all are innocent by heart, when we grow up as an adult, there is always this memory in your heart as a childhood. This memory from your past is not a special event or an occasion but just a moment you probably live by yourself and it flourishes in your heart forever. In May 2007, I created such memories of childhood through my photographic exploration.
This project involves creating narrative images with the juxtaposition of constructed environment and the realistic objects. It challenges our notion of what is real versus imaginary.
I want to further more explore myself creating unrealistic life-size landscapes with actual human beings - models depicting in the landscape. This project will be shot at one place with 10-15 images in a span of 5 to 6 months. Each image will take around 80 hours of elaborate construction and setting up till it is ready to shoot. My team would include an photo assistant, sculpture artist, wardrobe designer, hair stylist and makeup artist.
If selected, I would like to donate few percentage of my prize money towards child education in third world countries.

Saw your portfolio -- very nicely done. Some of the pictures are excellent. I like the angle on them...make them more artistic than a tourist taking pictures of SanFran landmarks. Fine art pictures were taken exceptionally well.
