The Geography of Nowhere
A sweeping survey of the effects of urban sprawl on the American landscape.
Strip malls, fast food chains, big box stores, billboards, and parking lots continue to spread like a cancer, killing small towns and ravaging rural treasures.
Armed with a view camera , rental van, and lots of film, I would start a 3 month long tour across America capturing the negative effects of poor urban planning. I would photograph both landscapes and portraits.
My hope is to show how much diversity is being threatened in the form of and a glimpse of the homogenized future of that awaits all of us.
