Moms Kick Economic Crisis in the Butt!
Millions of savvy moms keep household economics humming. Now they're managing families' tighter budgets and teaching their kids some frugal lessons for the future. I would travel the country documenting moms taking on the economy.
Millions of savvy moms keep household economies humming. So how are they managing their families' budgets now? And what are they teaching their kids through their frugal efforts? I would travel the country interviewing and photographing our greatest economic asset -- mothers with new ways to pinch pennies.
Few are talking about the things families are having to do to make ends meet, save for college and retirement and not implode with worry. Teens are chipping and working mothers are taking extra part-time jobs they never thought they'd be doing just to keep their families going.
I plan to travel the country to document the stories of mothers who are doing the hard work every day to keep their families afloat, who can also show financial big-wigs and economists a thing or two about thrift and belt-tightening, and how they've turned it into important life lessons for our next generations.

LOL. Great title for a fun sounding dream. Take a look at some of the many fantastic dreams other people have (mine has to do with children) and vote for the ones you like best. If you leave a comment, they can link back to your dream. You have my vote; good luck!
good luck with your idea =)
check my idea and vote for it if you like it =)
Great idea! Moms' contributions to the economy don't get enough attention; and this project also highlights techniques that work, making it doubly-value.
I think the additional part about how other family members (like children) might be chipping in would be revealing about how deeply the crisis is affecting families.
I love this idea. It's a great way to capture what generations before us likely did. I know I've been doing things differently, only to realize I'm doing the same things my mom and dad did to save their pennies!
Wow! Thanks for all the nice comments! And I will definitely check out all the other cool projects. I know this is a long shot, but I think there are lots of moms (and, you're right, dads and kids, too) who are really digging deep to come up with creative ideas to survive this downtown.
Thanks "DadTo2." ;)

excellent idea joanne! support you whole-heartedly and happy to wrangle the resourceful moms when you need them in my area. When you can get these ladies to talk candidly, the stories are surprising, inspiring...some shocking.

Good ideas like yours that are not in the Top 100 are nearly impossible to find. This is unfair as many great ideas are hidden. Those of us in the “Sub-100” should work together to promote the best projects of the Sub-100 so that they can be in the Top 100 and be seen. Please vote for best Sub-100s!
